Once again Mr. Son returns to attempting to write a self-insert GG isekai fic.

We're up to draft 5 now and still struggling to get through the first chapter.

There's a few main problems, among which:

A. I struggle to decide on some details.
Knowing I have to settle on one set of facts doesn't stop me from waffling between options. Executive dysfunction isn't just "can't start a task", making decisions is also a function I struggle with.

B. Trying to decide what information to give the reader at what pace and in which order.
Some things are very vital to introduce early, but how? It is work to arrange everything!

C. Oops I forgot to plan for canon.
That is, the story starts pre-canon, but I have to decide what I want to effect from the actual comic-canon plot. Which things do I want to change, and in what ways? And knowing that, in a story with time travel, effecting the future can effect the past! What a nightmare!

Also I haven't had breakfast yet so my blood sugar is having a fun time. Trying to do heavy thinking while I can smell my noodles cooking is hard. :p

And now, the last section of Round 2, my build.
Dreadlord Mr. Son.

My build theme was "storybook" and I took wild advantage to cram as much as I could in.

Round 2 of the Build and Seek concluded a while ago, and it's more than time for me to do the post about it.

This time, I've decided to give each build its own post.

Starting with Darlighl's build "The Depths".

The Labyrinth (1986 with David Bowie) is one of my favorite movies, but there's two parts of it in particular that irk me.

The lesser of the two is that the main events of the movie are implied to be just a dream on Sarah's part.
Making the fantasy in your movie a dream is the coward's choice, but at least the implications are subtle and ignoreable.
It's very easy to just treat the movie as a straight up fantasy movie.

But what really steams me up. What irritates me and drives me mad...
Is the damn bear.

Yeah, I understand the movie is trying to put forth a message of valuing family over possessions, but I don't think it should be at the cost of saying teenagers don't deserve privacy or to have anything that's just theirs.
This isn't a poor family. Her step mom could have bought a new bear. Instead of taking Sarah's, AGAIN.

"Someone's been in my room again!"

Sarah noticed immediately that her bear was missing.
This is something that's important to her, and has happened before.
Her step mother sees Sarah's privacy and belongings as unimportant in the face of giving her son a toy.
Again, she could have just got Toby his own bear.
But she took Sarah's, again.
And the lesson the audience is shown is that Sarah should just get over this if she cares about Toby.

I fucking hate that stupid bear scene.
